Guys,

Today in a hurry i bought XFX 7600GS and installed for my sis at chennai.

I disabled the IGP and installed the latest driver from nvidia for 7600GS after uninstalling the old driver.

I could see grains in the BIOS screen and in games ... Iam attaching a screenshot.

Plz help with this problem !?!? :@

Kindly bare with the bad file upload !!

First see if the card is seated in the slot properly. A loose card can cause problems. If the card is seated properly and the problem still occurs, then just get the card replaced immediately. Also if you have an ATi onboard graphics, see that the old drivers are removed completely.

I didnt try other games ... i'll try them now ... Actually the grains can be seen even in BIOS. When i loggin to XP i could see the mouse cursor having the grains.... So i think its not of the game.

TEMP was 57C idle.

The SPECS:
Venice 3000+
ASUS A8N VM-CSM
512MB DDR TRANSCEND
NAVTEK ORD. PSU

Help me out guys ... i goin back to NOIDA tom. So need to solve it by tom.
Should i try it out on some other PC .. and if so somebody in TE has to help.

Oops should i go for a replace without tryin in another PC ?? Will they accept ?
Now i have changed back to IGP and everything is fine.

better check out on some other pc, with a different/better psu maybe (though the 7600gs doesn't require lots of power...any generic 400watt should suffice)

errr...this looks very much like a bad card.....get it replaced ASAP...XFX should hgave decent warranty support so getting it replaced shouldn't be a big problem!

Grains, means its artifacting. Which means either the cards core or RAM is going bad. And believe you me, it wont matter if you would put this card into any other board the result will be same. The only thing you can try is downclock (using coolbits) it a bit and then try. However, changing the card is the best thing to do. Also, does this card have active cooling ?
