Graphic Cards Graphic Card dilemma

I only have 12k to spend, so I cant buy 6950/560

So, what would you advice me? What would you have done if you had 12k (max) to spend on a GPU?

i wud have saved my pocket money to buy a better card...

If i were you, i definitely wouldn't have bought a GTX 460/6850/6870 right now (2-3 months ago it would have been a good purchase), save money for 1-2 months if you have to, prices will drop + you will have some more money.

And 5950 or 6950?
There is no 5950 :p a typo, i meant a 6950 (2GB not needed, 1GB one is for 14,500?)

BTW i was wondering, and it made very little sense to me why you sold your 5770? Its a very decent card, and a 460/6850/6870 isn't a hell-o-va upgrade over it.

see this, analyse it, and analyse the reason why you want a 560/6950.

I didn't sell my GPU keeping in mind that I'll be upgrading to something, I sold it firstly because I wasn't using it much and I knew I wouldn't use it for a month or so. Secondly I needed money for some other purchases at that point of time and I had in mind that after some time I'll have money with me with which I'll again buy a second hand 5770 but as it turns out Im now with 10-12k so thought of buying a better GPU.

Alright, then i guess you should go for a 6870. but as the difference between a 6870 and a 6950 is like 2.5k, i can't really tell u to get a 6870, as the performance benefit you will get with a 6950 is too much to ignore.

Ok you can go to NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti 1 GB Review - Page 1/31 | techPowerUp
This review takes a plethora of GFX's under consideration, though its titled "GTX 560 Ti Review Introduction", you can come to know almost everything that u can need to know...Dig in, u will find it all... ;)

u said u had 5770, and now if u buy the 6850 (or any card in this budget), bliv me bro, it wont be a significant upgrade, doesn't makes sense to me atleast for the price you r paying...

On a personal note, i will definitely wait and save some money to get a 6950(2GB)...but if u are all out, and want to take a card asap, i would say go for the 6850...
But still, id tell u to wait for some time and get the best performer for the price you pay, and for me that would be the 6950(2GB)...u've already reached the 12K mark, just 4K more... :hap2:
The choice is yours to make..:cool2:
Happy Gaming :D

BTW can someone confirm whether it will be safe to run a 6870/6950 with my VX450 considering I have an unlocked quad core processor as well?

Yes... Ur VX450 can handle HD6950 wid an unlocked cpu...

4k is a lot for me, BTW I could get a 6950 1GB version rather than the 2GB one, its for 14.5k but still arranging 2.5k more doesn't seem possible as of now, irrespective of how much I want to buy 6950. :(

EDIT: Rather then "I could", I should have written "I should get the 1 GB version"
