GF 880GT/8800GTS/9800GT/9800GT+...best mid-range card in DX10 generation.

Runner Ups: Ati 9600 Pro, Ati HD 4850

My first GPU was the Zebronics FX 5200.I remember buying just to play 'The Punisher'.Good ol' days.

Had a nVidia TNT2 in my first RIG, had a stupefying 16MB of DDR V-RAM finished AoE / AoE II and Delta Force: Black Hawk Down on that.

Have an AMD HD 5770 currently serving me well, but it is past its prime will move to the Green Team with release of Kepler OR to the Red Team if they drop their prices sufficiently to justify buying those vis-a-vis Kepler.

Bah, all you younguns'...

First gfx card - Riva TNT!

Second - GeForce 256! Hardware T&L FTW!

Third - Geforce 3 Ti200

Fourth - 9800Pro

Fifth - 6600GT PCIe

Sixth - X850XT PE

Seventh - 7900 GTO

Eighth - 8800GT x2

Ninth - 4870

Tenth - 5870!

I remember playing on Shatul (Toolius)'s Diamond Multimedia V220 card, with a whole 4MB of graphics memory!

Glad to see I wasn't the only user of RIVA TNT, waaaaaaay back in 1998!!

Tho I'll see ur Riva and raise you a Hercules 2 mb card (1995...dont remember exactly it was the prince of persia/ Street Rod/ 4d sports days)

Anyways, starting from Riva, I still remember when I plugged tht bad boy in my Carmageddon graphics blew my mind (and then I ran all the other games just to see how they looked
<
)

so, starting from the real AGP...

1) Riva TNT (8mb)

2) TNT 2

3) ATI Radeon 6 series

4) Nvidia 6600

5) Nvidia MSI 7XXX series (dont remember the model)

6) GT9800

7) AMD HD 6670 (current)

Thinkin about buyin a new GPU after AMD announces its future line up in a couple a months.

Cheers!

Yeah all these bring back a lot of memories!

My journey started with,

a. Asus Riva TNT 2 card (NFS Porche 2000 was really mind blowing)

b. GeForce MX440

c. Radeon 9800 pro

d. Gainward 6800 GT

e. Leadtek 7950GT

f. Currently on a Radeon 4890 & looking for an upgrade.

I am feeling seriously old now.

1. S3 Trident 3d9750

2. TNT2 (M64 Vanta Poor man's accelerator)

3. GeForce 4 MX440 (Diamond)

4. ATI Radeon 9600

5. nVidia 6600 GT

6. nVidia 7600 GT

7. nVidia 8600 GT

7. ATI Radeon 4670

8. nVidia 8800 GT

9. nVidia GTX 280

10. nVidia GTX 280 SLI

11. ATI Radeon 6950

Umpteen small beech cards in between and a few htpc cards not worth mentioning. As can be seen, all poor man's cards till I started earning.
