Hey all

planning to get a new PC for graphic operations at my organization. THe IT team knows jack sh1t about it...

So wanted opinion about what config could be best... Budget somewhere isnt the issue

I thought of

Intel Core 2 Quad Proc
2gb RAM 800hz
500GB 7200 rpm HDD
Motherboard any suggestion ?
graphic card ? is 8800 GTX good enough or any better one than that?
Also may be have to look at then a
Coolmaster cabinet and cooling solution

i think thats the most important ...

luv to hear dis "Budget somewhere isnt the issue"....

CABBY: antek 900.

^^ thats two senseless posts in a row.

@freestyler.. please refrain from using 'sms lingo' on the forums. makes reading your posts very difficult for others.

@OP

what are your requirements? 'Graphics Operations' is a very wide term. what is this machine going to be used for? Rendering? Modelling?

budget no limit is again very vague. try to talk to whoever is going to be involved in the process and define a limit. it makes the task much more meaningfull.

thanks a lot dude

just wanna know are all these available in india...

and any other Mobo i am not looking for a wifi etc mobo..... and any other GPU that is there in market?

u can go for Abit IP35-E (Universal abit USA - Products) or Abit IP35-Pro (Universal abit USA - Products ..its an awesome mobo...i personally don't think u NEED to go for 9800 GTX...u can settle for XFX 8800 GTX Ultra as well....or the ATi HD 3870 X2 also...which are currently available in the market....

dude tell what graphic operation u gona do on it

accordingly we can tell you that.

also chek my signature i use that for 3d renders and modeling works fine for me.

total damage for my rigg came to 29k

68 freaking "K" for a mobo :O

and why not buy like 3x500GB hdds instead of 1x1TB for 15k :P

8800 GTX good enough or any better one than that?

Get the ATI 3870 X2 Dual GPU 1GB DDR3 ..costs 22k

performs better than the 88GTX ...cheaper...you might be able to mod and convert it to a fireGL card for professional usage.

Coolmaster cabinet

CM-690 is a nice cabby...spacious...costs about 4.5k....though its more a matter of personal choice

simple
1 x 1tb more damage but less power consumption less heat less space
3 x 500gb less damage more power more space:bleh:

^^ if ur spending so much on a cabinet it better keep everything cool(antec or CM)....1x120mm fan in the front is more than enuff to do that and there is no prob of space....all those hdd slots are not there for show :P

more power ?? lol spending so much on the comp, the electricty bill shld be the least of his worries.

like geting a ferrari n cryin bout petrol :P

Oh damn! do i hate "unlimited budget" stuff? There is no fun building a PC with unlimited budget. ;)

Still coz i find it difficult to stop myself after going through some of the configs suggested above, just let me add one thing: days of 8800GTX are over. get anything new... 8800GT, 9600GT, 9800GTX, 3870X2, 3870, 8800GTS (512)... anything but 8800GTX or Ultra.

1000W

68K mobo

DDR2 Dominator on a DDR3 mobo!!!

@antz123: best way to get a config here is to spell out your requirements and a approx budget

^^absolutely.....+1....damn i wud regret so much if i got a mbo worth 68k
@saumik it was jus a general idea...his case is different-no budget limit

Just another query! Are you buying the system for your desk or for the company's purpose? The overall thread goes like this "Hi all! I want to make a ultimate system money can buy!"
