Graphic Cards Graphics card Assassin's Creed II

This is my setup.
MotherBoard - Gigabyte GA-P35-S3G
CPU - Core 2 Duo E7300
RAM - 2GB

Basically i want to play Assassin's Creed II on my 32 inch LCD with highest settings.
Suggest me good graphics card and PSU

Budget?

Since your 32inch LCD is probably 1920x1980. Then the cheapest imo- GT450GTS+Tagan500 @ 10k. Should easily get 30fps at full HD - maxed out.

Although I suggest you try getting the GTX460 at the very least.

My LCD is half HD 720p.I think resolution is 1366 x 768.more over i dont mind playing at a lesser resolution, but it Graphics detail should be at the highest level.

^^ Grab the COrsair CX 400 OR Seasonic S12D 430 Bronze + AMD HD 6850 / nVidia GTX 550 Ti / nVidia GTX 460 1GB.

These combos will last you atleast 1 to 2 years into the future with resolution @1280 x 720 [720p] + max to high details on most game titles. Hope this helps in your choice Sire.

if cx 400 or seasonic s12ii 430 is not available,go for Silverstone SST-ST50F-ES or ANTEC (EA-500D),HD6790 would be good choise if u cant get Hd6850.

^^ HD 6790 is a down-step from the HD 6850 and the HD 6850 is commonly available in lot of flavors from several different companies at a decent price band of between ~ 8,500/- to 10,000/- INR. Also its power draw is lighter than bthe GTX 460, while performance-wise it touches the older generation HD 5850.

AnandTech - Bench - GPU11 -- AMD HD 6850 vs. GTX 460.

HD6850 is more than enough. No point aiming any higher than that.

I played AC2 in full settings in 1440*900 on my 3 year old 8800GT. Except in Metro, I've not had to dip below High settings ever. Now imagine what a HD6850.

Alternatively, have you thought of buying a console? It'll work great with you TV. Also, AC2 is really good with a joystick so i guess it'll be equally good on the classic Xbox360 (13k+ I think)

not sure if my card is faulty or not.. sorry for hijacking ur thread.. just one reply..

I paired my GPU with Core i3 560 ( previous gen proccy ) and got only 33-40 FPS in Assassins Creed II at 1366x768 ..

my GPU faulty ?

I am playing AC2 on my system on High settings at 1600*900. That will give you an idea that you don't have to spend much to max this game.

so i can play AC2 in my 32inch LCD with HD4670 at high settings????

6850 is 10K.It is too much for my wallet.I do occasional gaming.Assassin's Creed II itself will take me months to complete. So i can safely go for 4670 or maybe 5670 for my 32 inch LCD.??????.

I have Antec 300W i hope it should be enough.

I doubt this is the only game you will ever play. Additionally, I am not playing at full HD resolution. I stated this just to give you an idea that an HD 6770 would easily max this game on full HD. If you want to max all games, go for at least HD6850.
