Graphic Cards Graphics Card Query

Hi,

I would like to add a good graphics card.Will HD-4850 be compatible with my setup.I am basically intersted in HD/Bluray playback.

Motherboard: MSI K9AGM3 (AMD 690 Chipset)
Processor:AMD 4800
RAM; 1GB X2 (Kingston)
HDD: Sata Seagate 250GB x2
Case:Antec Fusion Black 430

So you mainly want a new graphics card for decoding HD video?

Are you a serious gamer? What kind of games do you like playing?

What SMPS are you using?

If you are not too much into gaming and just want better HD playback, you would be better served by upgrading your processor and RAM and investing in different card, even a ATI 3450 or a Nvidia 8400 would be good enough :)

Iam not into gaming at all.Using the Antec SMPS that came with the cabinet.Actually i just upgraded the my set up so kind of hesitant on a procy change.Please suggest.

No need to change proccy.. Its more than sufficient for ur HTPC..
Even ur 690G onboard is good for video Playback but it lacks UVD & hence VC-1..
I would recon you ASUS/Gecube HD 3450 at Rs 2800..:D:
 
Thanks for the advise.Please suggest a good soundcard which will provide me with a provision to process the audio signal through my Denon 3805 receiver
