I am new to this forum, and this is my first post. I've got a 2 year old PC, with a ASUS K7N266 motherboard with a Athlon XP 2000+ processor. Yes, I know its a very old and out of date combo, but it serves my needs (internet surfing, watching movies, playing simple games).
I'm now looking to upgrade my monitor to a LCD. I've narrowed in on a couple of 19 inch wide screen models, Samsung 940BW and Viewsonic 1912W based on reviews on the net.
My problem is that the onboard graphics on my MB don't support a widescreen resolution (1440x900). They can only support 1280*1024. Since I am set on a 19 inch widescreen and want to run it at the native resolution, I guess I need a graphics card.
I need advice on which graphics card to buy. The MB has a 4x AGP slot, so I am looking for a graphics card that is 4X compatible and should support the 1440x900 resolution.
Thanks in advance for your help
