Australian Greg Chappell has been appointed to replace John Wright as India's coach. Greg Chappell edged out fellow Australian Tom Moody, India's Mohinder Amarnath and the West Indian Desmond Haynes for the role. His contract is for two years until the 2007 World Cup.

atleast i am happy that mohinder amarnath is not appointed.
he is a shot tempered man and remember that bunch of jokers incident!!

even though amarnath may be one of the best fast bowl facing batsman india has produced but his mindset is not fit be a coach.

and a foreigner is free of regional biases which may hamper indian coach`s performance.

lets hope for the best.
