The major companies like Sony, Samsung, LG give only 1 year warranty, so its better to save 20k on a 50-55k TV by getting it through grey market.

Toshiba , Panasonic 3 years - DEMAND your rights boycott companies who's warranties and service level in India do not mirror their international levels.

And I serious doubt you are going to be saving 20k on 50-55k

LOL at your demand, i DEMAND better picture quality, wont even look at toshiba and panasonic LCD's(pathetic customer service for TV's) if i consider picture quality a priority, and yeah myself and many others have already saved 18-20k on our purchases.

Even in USA, these TV's come with 1 yr warranty.

Better picture quality ? Don't make me laugh .. Have you even seen a Panasonic screen or are you just blowing smoke through your A55, There is a reason many public places use Panasonic, and its not the price. Maybe a little research will shed some light.

18-20 saved ? by comparing to MRP or Best available price, huge difference there. The difference does not even seem to be 10k

Anyone who is not blind can easily identify the superior picture qualilty of sony and samsung when compared to toshiba and panasonic LCD and LED-backlit LCD, only the higher end pana plasmas are good.

yes,18-20k pure saving and its even higher when you go above 1lakh, you can argue as much as you want but you cant change the price difference, just get your best pricing for a particular tv from your favorite dealer then visit your nearest grey market for comparison.
@raksrules bought a Tv worth 1lakh from grey market, he must have saved more than 20k, let us wait for his comment on his savings.

You are right there, anyone who is not blind (or a fan boi) or maybe even seen a Panasonic. Go see one from ALL angles and then comment.

And if you notice the talk is about saving 20k on 50k TVs (which is impossible) - so stop moving the goal post and confusing people. Oh yes I hope you read the article about 7 million Samsungs shipped in US alone with a power on defect. I sure hope one the the grey markets guys don't have one of them.

7 million Samsungs shipped in US alone with a power on defect.

This news is of the year 2010 and they have clearly mentioned that its a very small percentage of all the TVs shipped by Samsung in US alone !!

I doubt any of this defective models will be present in the market now.

Do these grey market dealers accept credit cards? Or is cash payment the only mode possible?

Nobody replied, so i guess everyone here paid in cash, grey market dealers will prefer cash payments for obvious reasons but they may offer credit card transaction at 2-3% extra just like the sp road guys, so its better to visit there once and get the info about this as well as available models as model availability varies everyday.

@RS4 and @adder Thanks for the info. Expected answers. I guess online deals via ebay would be a better option if I were to use a card.

Yep, you can get any repairs done regardless of the panel that you have got.

I bought a Samsung from the Grey Market and its price at retail stores was 62k which I got for 43k in the grey market. So yes, YOU CAN SAVE 20,000 GODDAMN RUPEES..
And its very much fine , no issues at all. So there.
And tell me how many people make Warranty claims within 1 year? If at all there is any manufacturing defect, its seen within a week of purchase and then you can easily get a new one at the grey market store where you got it from...

in ahmd i have better LED prices in grey market compare to all major cities in india :) if any one wanna know the price list do let me know :)
