Wanted to play GRID for the 2nd time and installed it but once the game's launched and the main menu turns up after the videos, something like this shows up:

Another fsk up is the update 1.2 would not patch the game in the installed directory. Instead it'd do so in some C:\ directory. Dont think it'd have patched the game either.
Searched the eternity for a solution. Looked up the Codemasters' forum under GRID and seems like they've an entire thread dedicated to Solutions of problems.
Has anyone encountered anything like this? I'm running this on Vista Ultimate x64 + an ATI 4870 1GB + Catalyst 9.2 drivers.
