Linux GRUB loader reinstallation

Windows has been giving me some problems, so i might reinstall it. Problem is that i'll lose my GRUB loader in the process. So how do i reinstall it without having to install the Linux base system??

(I'm using Debian)
 
I should also mention that the procedure mentioned will work for other distributions as well. I can confirm that it works on the RHEL/Fedora range. It is pretty much distro agnostic. Of course you will need a boot disk/cd but you don't necessarily even need the same installation's boot disk. I have used old fedora 1 cds to restore RHEL 4 boot loaders and other such rubbish.
