GTA 4 Queries

Yeah dude. However, the game might not start up at all if your RAM and graphics card aren't up to the task.
 
HEY GUYS! I tried making my GTA IV work on Xp Sp2, IT DINT!

GTA IV needs atleast Xp Sp3!!!

^any of u tried playing it for 1hr+ on xp sp2?
 
Hv'nt played it as yet but ya even i've heard it does'nt work with xp sp2..But 2 guys over here are saying it does..So i cant be certain till i try it on my comp..
 
Yup, ur right. SP3 is mandatory to play GTA4. Even i too failed in my first attempt to play the game with SP2 and then playing it with SP3 installed.
 
I think it's the Visual C++ Redist or something that is required that has been updated in SP3. Check out the other GTA threads on TE and you may find what you require instead of updating entirely to SP3.
 
Guys you can definitely play it in XP SP2. My old Thinkpad runs on XP Pro SP2 and runs GTA4 just fine.

Try THIS trick to run it under SP2.
