Grand Theft Auto is one of the highest selling franchises in Gaming history. Originally launched nearly 15 years ago, the series shot to fame with the 3D GTA 3 launched just around the year 2000. After that, there was no turning back. Fast forward 2013 and GTA 5 is the most hotly anticipated game launch for the year! And we have details on when that happens! In another news, Crysis 3 will launch it's Multiplayer Beta later this month. We remember Crysis 2 Multiplayer, and it wasn't that bad.
GTA 5 launch date

Fresh off the bakery is word that GTA 5 will launch on March 24th, 2013. In what hasn't been determined yet as a deliberate mistake (or an honest one), Microsoft e-mailed all Grand Theft Auto fans who have pre-ordered the game thereby revealing that the game launches on the 24th of March.

"I have pre-ordered Grand Theft Auto V at the Australian retailer JB-HI-FI. I recently updated my pre-order with them and I directly asked when this game will be released, they responded without hesitation and said April 24 2013 (Australian release date). They continued to explain to me that Rockstar Games had notified them of this information. It also says the release date on my pre-order receipt April 24 2012. True story."

GTA 5 will launch for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Word is that PC and even the Wii U might see a release (WE SURE HOPE SO). But nothing can be confirmed as of now. If the game indeed doesn't make it to PC, it will be one sad day for PC gamers indeed.

Crysis 3 Multiplayer beta

Crysis 3 is kicking off it's Multiplayer beta on January 29th. Here's how EA describes how the Multiplayer Beta will be:

"In Crash Site, players must secure and defend specific locations, earning points along the way for kills and their ability to hold those locations. The exciting, all-new Hunter mode makes its debut in Crysis 3. This asymmetrical, time based mode pits two players vs. ten (two vs. 14 on PC) in matches that begin with two cloaked hunters stalking 10 opposing CELL troopers. Armed only with enhanced Nanosuits and the lethal Predator bow, hunters must systematically stalk and kill the CELL operatives, who in turn must work together as a team as they fight to stay alive before the round ends. The twist is that once a CELL trooper is killed, that player will then respawn as a hunter, joining the others in their attempt to eliminate the remaining CELL operatives before the clock strikes zero."

In this Multiplayer Beta, you can play 2 of the 12 full maps that will be available in the final game (and of course, more later via map packs).

Crysis 3 is due February 19th for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. Crytek claims that it will bring current PCs down on their knees, just like it did with Crysis back in 2007. We hope that isn't because the game is un-optimized as hell.
