^its not fixed yet. I've tried both the new gta4 patch and latest drivers, still having the issue. Using some kind of RAM optimizer (a program that frees up memory automatically) in the background, seems to help. Though many users complained about drop in frame rates because of that.
As Apex said , it has not been fixed. The memory leak is definitely there, even after patching, and even after changing to the latest drivers. But for me it was just an occasional glitch, that disappeared if i changed the viewing angle. Finished the game too, without a problem. Try lowering the settings, especially the texture ones and the viewing distance. Helps for some people.
Guys its lagging like hell on my rig .
I'm running it on a C2D 4400, 2gig ddr2667, MSI 9800GT 512 on win vista. settings at 1280, texture=medium, render quality=high, rest of the sliders are at about 1/10th .
any idea what might be causing it ? any suggestions?
try 181.00 ...it works best for gta4 ...no more lags,crashes,lockups..at least for me ..cannot say how the game will behave on your system as gta4 is shitty port
