GTA4 - Will it work if I format OS

i have GTA4 installed on D drive and vistax64 on C: drive

its is a legitimate copy with proper activations (all extras/patches installed)

I want to format it and install vista32 ( for some requirement)

Will the game work if i restore the save file to its Mydocuments location as it was there earlier.

Normally all the other games work if i copy the game dump and restore save file, but this game is weird, so i want to check u with u guys before doing it

Has anyone tried this

Didnt work for me......No saved games in the location or similar was the message when i went to load the data from a new game.
