Gtalk acting wierd

I have been facing issues with gtalk off lately ,When i am chatting to some one ,it signs me off automatically or at times even when my friends are online it displays no one is online.I tired reinstalling gtalk its still the same.I am getting irritated at times :crazy:. .Tried googling couldn get any answers.Can some throw some light on this issue.One more issue is that when ever i tried loggin in it takes ages to log me in :-[
 
are you running downloads or any torrents while using Gtalk?

i used to see frequent disconnections on gtalk while i was running IDM or utorrent. when i switched IDM/utorrent off, gtalk would function normally.
 
Yeah i do run utorrent most of the times,but i guess this has nothing to do with gtalk coz i am facing this problem recently may be from past 2 or 3 days.I have been using gtalk+utorrent from ages never ever faced an issue.Let me give a try with utorrent turned off.
 
try an alternate client like meebo/ palringo and verify

also try using the gmail gtalk facility and check if the same issue persists

I did stop utorrent and tru using talk ,issue still persists.But over palringo it works perfect :D.Thanks to u axeman,but i want to use gtalk coz of its simplicity.Is there anything i could do to fix it..
 
Is ur connection stable? This is the only time it does something like wat u mentioned..my connection is unstable and same thing happens..

I did try that still no use :(,After reinstall i am getting the below message of i try to log in.

Connection is perfectly stable.
 
ohk, now u better go off to the google help forums. this could be beyond us.

prolly a software corruption issue, but cant say really now.
 
hey i got the same problem. I suddenly go offline and i am like wtf y is no1 replying to my msg, and then i see i am offline...

Re installing does not help. I am using windows 7. Connection is stable.Do not use torrents.

Could it be some kind of virus ?? I am using avast.

please help.
 
I face exactly the same problem.

1. Suddenly, I am offline.

2. Within a few seconds I am back online, without the need to login.

3. Once I log back in there are only 1-2 people on my list. Within 2-3 minutes all the online folks are back on my list (at any time there are at least 15 people online on my list)

4. No torrent, latest updated Nod 32, MTNL Triband 2 Mbps.

It sounds silly, but check if your system date/time is correctly set.

Looking at the amount of people facing the issue, it could be an issue with GTalk servers itself?
