Since evening, many friends were sending me tinyurl links which would ask one to sign in with the google id and then forward the link to all the contacts in the ID.

Don't click on the tinyurl links!

Tinyurl virus in Gtalk?

Many Gtalk users have received a message stating "LOL! Check out this funny video" followed by a Tinyurl link from some of their Google talk contacts. When the URL is clicked it is taken to the site Viddyho.com where the users are prompted to enter their gtalk username and password to access the video.

I am not sure how many of them have fallen prey to this. Many Gtalk users have confirmed they received the message. At the moment, I am not sure whether it is intended for fun or it is some sort of phishing site. We have to wait for Google’s official release on this.

If you receive similar message close your chat window and clear your cache and cookies. And more importantly do not enter your Gmail username and password. If you have already entered then change your gmail password immediately.
