Graphic Cards GTO a tad slow?

Ok, this isn't a TB type thread, so don't kill me for this.
Got the GTO up and running, 93.91 drivers. Q4 refuses to run in 1600*1200 - is it a monitor limitation? The vx2025 does only up to 1680*1050, so scaling should work, right?

Then I tried at 1280*1024. 2xAA and 8xAF. Game response is a tad laggy, no "stuttering" though.

AOE3 and NFSMW work fine at that resolution.

Is this a case of bad coding, or just the card not being up to snuff? I've done the usual, fresh driver install, defrag, yadda yadda.. CPU is @ 2.4Ghz, 166 RAM divider, 4xHT multiplier.

GPU clocks are 700/1600.

i got a dell 2007wfp and a MSI 7900GTX , i should get my board back today so wait for me 2 post back, ill tell u wuts the issue , the game or ur config.

btw kinda stupid but still i remember there were some issues with the game on ws so did u update to 1.3 and i think its also been fixed for dual core support

The 1.3 patch should definitely help if you are on dual core. Q4 was sluggish for me before the patch, after that it was touchwood.

also i dont know if 1600 x 1200 will work as the monitor max res vertically is 1050 pixels.

get the 1.3 patch techhead. also are u using the amd dual core optimizer? cause that too is needed for x2 in xp. i had a really bad problem trying to figure out probs in many games, they would give proper fps but still run sluggish. & in many games with vsync the game would run at 2x or 4x the speed. lol. the patch fixed it but.

Haa, patch is installed, /usepmtimer has been added to the boot.ini file as well.
Oh well, guess I'll download the 1.3 patch. AOE3 and NFSMW are working just fine, as is HL2.

nope 1600 x 1200 will not work because there are only 1050 pixels height wise in a 20" WS. Only upscaling is supported, no downscaling . Its not related to a specific game and is generic thing.

16:10 !!!!! new format ??? ..... lol

All WS monitors are made with 16:10 aspect ratio. :bleh: Its easy to manufature LCD's with this aspect ratio rather than 16:9.

16:10 = 1.6

16:9 = 1.77777777777777777777

1.6 is an easier aspect to maintain than 1.777777.
