I'm coming up with a pharmaceuticals facility and recently I've opted to go for the Reliance Internet Lease Line , 256kbps @ 2.25 lac/year.

This facility is in the north of India (Baddi if anyones heard of it).

Now, I have to network the whole plant. I had called a company to discuss the networking costs etc and there were a few suggestions that they gave me for which I need the TE regulars to suggest / comment /advice if what they said is really necessary after looking into the budgeting.

Info :
1) Whole plant is wired through CAT 6 cables instead of CAT 5 already.
2) An ERP Software (on the lines of SAP) is going to be running.
3) MAJORITY file transfers taking place will be small documents, nothing big.
4) Basically there are 3 points in the plant where wires from all the diff parts are stretched to. Lets name them Pt.1 , Pt.2 and Pt.3.

Pt. 1 basically is the server room so pt.2 and pt.3 need to be connected directly to Pt.1.
What they suggested :
24 Port Jack Cat 6 Jack Panel x 3 Nos. @ Rs.5403/piece (For each of the 3 points)
9U Rack with ACDB and Cable Manager x 3 Nos. @ Rs.6200/piece (For each of the 3 points)

ACTIVE COMPONENTS FROM DLINK :
24 Port 10/100/1000 Mbps Switch x 1 Nos. @ Rs. 36500 (For Pt.1 Server Room)
24 Port 10/100 having 2 Nos. 10/100/1000 Mbps Connections x 2 Nos. @ Rs.11000/piece ( For Pt.2 and Pt.3 )

HARDWARE FOR Internet Lease Line from CISCO:
Cisco 1841 Router @ Rs.54500
Cisco WIC 1T Serial Card @ Rs.16800
Cisco V.35 Cable @ Rs.4200
DLINK DIC2000 FE2VL G.703 to V.35 Converter @ Rs.21500
1841 Router and Converter Configuration @ Rs.10000
1 Year CISCO Warranty pack for Router @ Rs.3550
What I wanted to know was :
(1)If the files that are going to be transfered are small in size, do I really need to opt for the 10/100/1000 Switches which are WAY more expensive compared to normal 10/100 switches ?
Or does a 10/100/1000 have any other specific use / advantage over the normal 10/100 switch.

(2) Regarding the Hardware needed for the Lease Line connectivity, is all that hardware really required ?
Are there any other options available (hardware manufacturers) ?
Is there any advantage going for CISCO if other companies are offering at cheaper prices considering theres a 10k additional cost for the configuration and another 4k cost for 1 years warranty ?

Your help is appreciated, waiting for suggestions.

Listen dude, I dont know too much about networking. But here is what I do know.

If they've already spent for cat6 stuff, better to go with high speed cat6 speed capable hardware. You never know when high speeds will be used. Why build a 6 lane highway, with a 2 lane bottleneck?

For an office setup always go with robust manufacturers like Cisco or dlink. Dont be cheap on that. Check on service for them though. In the end you dont want headaches for the ppl working there.
