Guys can u tell me the non reference cooler which sapphire used on hd6950 1gb... Is it better than the reference cooler?... And is the cooler quiter than the reference cooler?... And one more question... which i have asked so many times in other threads... is this card going to fit in my cabby? (NZXT GAMMA)

TYIA :)

Gannu... Aditya infotech just recently sent yantra online a letter in which they have mentioned that sapphire cards carry 3yrs replacement warranty... So thats y i decided to buy this card... U can check the letter in other forum... In which ferrari posted a print of this letter...

So has this issue being resolved? Sapphire had a 2yr warranty for parts and labor previously IINM. I was unaware of this resolution. Could you post the image in this forum? :)

Sorry i can't post an image of that letter here coz currently i am using mobile internet so i cant do so... U can check my post in which i have written " if this is true i'll grab an hd6950 asap"... By going in my profile... In that post u'll find aditya infotech letter's pic which DA has posted. :)

^Thanks Jasku! :)

I suppose that resolves the issue then. Aditya hasn't mentioned anything w.r.t the bill either. So perhaps International warranty holds good as well. :P

^^no

guys this thread has gone a bit offtopic... :P ... The non reference cooler which sapphire has used is it better than reference cooler...

Hey man, from your question its evident that you have decided on the 6950 1GB, but have you looked at the GTX 560ti, with your monitor, i think its better value for money, cooler and quieter.

Well HD 6950 1GB is arnd 15.2k or so ...get the HD 6950 Refernce 2GB by just paying 1.5k extra.(Rs 16700 from yantra Online)

Its 100% that the shader unlocks with reference HD 6950 2GB cards and its as good as a 6970 costing arnd 21000 :D

And no way I can refer the Zotac GTX 560 Ti for arnd 15.5k !

I agree with the 6950 2Gb shader unlock idea, but between the Gtx 560ti and the 6950 1GB. I think it comes down to personal choice and game titles one is inclined towards, but in any case at 1080p there is little to choose btw the 2, and the nvidia runs cooler and consumes lesser power as well.

^ 6950 1GB is overall 5 - 10 % faster than GTX 560 and consumes less power on load than 560. the latter advantage lies in being cooler and quieter.. :-)

Go with Sapphire 6950 1GB!!
Sorry no idea reg the cooler but i guess it shouldn't be much of a concern...

@Everybody

Is the new custom cooler which sapphire used on the hd6950 1GB card better than the reference cooler? :)

--- Updated Post - Automerged ---

Guys i've finally decided wid which card i'll go wid... Its gtx560... As i dint get any input regarding the size of hd6950...so i've decided dat i'll go wid gtx560... Coz i have a feeling dat hd6950 wont fit in my cabby... And after reading some reviews i am more confused... Guru3d reviewer says that hd6950 is 11inch long whereas legitreviews reviewer says that it is 10.5 inch long... So i dont wanna take any kinda risk... Coz after buying hd6950 and if it doesn't fit in my cabby it will b of no use... I wud rather wait for gtx 560 twin frozr to launch in india...

Advantage Sapphire. Your warranty doesn't void if you use custom heatsink, cooler by removing reference one.

Disadvantage others, "warranty void if seal broken"

EDIT:-

The Sapphire Cooler is awesome, reference does a great job too.

On NZXT Gamma? It's fit easily, the HD5850 sits in my smaller CM Elite 334.

Thanks comp@ddict for replying...
But hd6950 is longer than 5850 and its long as hd5870... Do u think it can fit in my cabby? Guru3d says that its 11inch long and my cabby can take in max 10.5 inch card...

Did you try emailing Sapphire or NZXT regarding this??

Just saw ASUS prices of their cards @ Asus unveils DirectCU II Graphics Cards in India > Hardware > Techtree.com and they are excluding taxes.. don't know whether ASUS has a good/decent/growing GPU market share as i always find their prices very costly..

I was looking into cases for my new 6950 as it wouldn't fit in my old case (NZXT Alpha). The NZXT Gamma was one of the cases I was looking at (before I found a good deal on an Antec 300). I did find some forum posts saying people were able to put the 6950 into the Gamma. Let me see if I can find those posts again.

Also, all 6950 2GBs are reference length right now, which should be 10.6 inches.

Also, unlike the older 4870s, the power connectors are on the top of the card, not the rear. (The rear connectors were an issue in smaller cases where the HDD cage obstructed the connectors)

Edit: Here's one poster on overclock.net
