Yes... it makes a difference... I dont wanna spend my hard earned money on a product which i already own... Its not about $10... Its about ethics... Its about greed... Think about amount of $10 which they will be taking from the people who already own HL2...

Think like this... How many copies of HL2 have they sold... Now lets assume that each of them buy a copy of EP2... They are making $10 on each all the copies they have sold earlier... Which you yourself said is quite huge...

We are not talking about $10 here... We are talking about millions which valve/ea would be making for every EP2 copy sold... They have already made enough money with HL2... This is just a bonus which they are forcefully extracting from us...

You think its a win win situation for both Valve and Gamers but trust me we are the losers here...
 
Well, Switch, I think the HL2 Ep 2, TF 2 and Portal are themselves worth more than 40$.

I was pleasantly surprised when they announced that the Black box was going to be only for 40$. I was expecting it to be more like 60$.

Well, I think they wanted to increase the price of the Black Box, thats why they announced the Orange box with HL2 and HL2 Ep 1 as just an excuse for the more money.
 
Switch said it best. It's a matter of principle. Most people wouldn't want to feel cheated buying the same stuff again. I'm sure Valve will change their mind once they get enough complaints.
 
Well, I think they will be releasing the HL2 Ep2 as a separate pack too. This Orange Box will be for those who do not already have HL2 and want to get all the games in a single pack.
