PC Peripherals Hard disk on Laptop not detected...

I am kinda confused on this, this laptop should have 40GB HDD but right now it only shows 20GB. When i went to reformat i found this but didnt quiet understand.. Please help on how i can get the other 20GB

Easy:

1) Scroll down to the Unpartitioned space using the keys, and press C...Choose quick format to NTFS/FAT32 when prompted

2) Complete your windows installation on your C:, once done, go to ControPanel> Admin Tools>Computer Management>DIsk management...it will show you your DIsk parition structure....from here, you can right click on the unpartitioned space, and format/quick format it to NTFS or FAT32..

I'd suggest option 2, as it is more user friendly
