i jus installed my hard drive which is a wd green 500gig one. . is it normal for windows 7 to show the hard disk as an ejectable one? i mean in the task bar there is an option to eject my hdd. . is this normal? cuz in xp there was nt any similar option. and it says its an ata drive. . isnt it supposed to be a sata drive. . how do i change it

thanks a lot bro. but unfortunately it doesnt seem to help cuz im runnning windows 7 whereas the steps mentioned are only for xp and 2003
 
did you try creating a key named nvata under
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services in the windows 7 registry ?

Such a key doesnt exist in windows 7 by default. Try manually creating the key and follow the instructions in the link. I hope this will do it.
