I am on the lookout for a HDD with a minimum capacity of 500GB, Lower capacities are not welcome.
On the list are:
1. Seagate 7200.12
2. Samsung SpinPoint
3. WD Black or Blue
I am willing to pay a max of 3k for the above, they are ranked according to preference.
More can be arranged provided the item demands it.
Raptors are welcome, but must have atleast 300Gb of holding capacity.

The latest Green's are showing an alarming failure rate...I don't want to risk it.

Moreover am a Seagate Loyalist. :p

That's why WD is at the bottom of the list. :D
 
off topic: for me wd works the best, using 7 * 2tb as my server storage :) , actually its upto the user's taste

on topic: overlord, just check few local shops around your house, most of the companies put similar prices,

its like ~300 up/down for different brands :)

p.s. called wd distributor here and the wd black 500gb costs around 2600+ , so expect similar prices

for seagate or ~300 +/-
 
I have 2 seagate 500GB 7200.12
Was going to put them up here until my Internet died on me so am just surfing on my phone.
Don't know what price to quote though...
Warranty is till 11 April 2014
 
The price of a new 500GB 7200.12 is 2.4k

Price accordingly, I am pretty sure you have bought both your drives in the month of april last year.
