PC Peripherals Hardware for capturing/recording stb videos to pc

I want to capture video from my digital cable tv stb to my pc, the stb has s-video out and av (red,white,yellow) out, what hardware is required for this? my budget is about 1.5k

Any good internal TV tuner card will be able to capture.

which STB are u using ? Like airtel, tata sky..Most of the stb are now copy protected (macrovision).Previously i was using SUN DTH and was able to record using TV Tuner's composite input. Now I am using Airtel STB. Not able to record from it.

I bought this Avermedia pci tv tuner card today AVerMedia AVerTV Global - TV Tuners, Media Player, IPTV and Multimedia Products - AVerTV Super 009 , i get clear picture with rf/analog input but with composite/rca i get distorted/moving picture

I have checked with another rca cable and got the same result, is this a faulty card or something wrong with my pc? i am using crt monitor

^ Finally i think i found out the problem after almost two years, this card is probably DVB-S & my STB is DVB-C, this is the reason i am not getting clear picture , Are DVB-C tv tuners available in India?
