Galvanizer
Prices at Delta Peripherals as on 26/07/05 :

Leadtek 6600 PCI-E 256MB - Rs. 6300

Leadtek 6600GT PCI-E - Rs. 9900

Leadtek 6200TC Max. 128MB - Rs. 2550

XFX 6200TC Max. 256MB - Rs. 3100 ( Savera Info. )

ASUS StarIce - Rs. 1200

Venice LBBLE 0519BPHW 3000+ - Rs. 7250

Winnie LBBID 0512DPAW 3200+ - Rs. 9600
( 3200+ Venice Not Avail. )

NOTE : I was told that only the current stock of ASUS StarIce ( 2 Nos. ) would be sold for Rs. 1200 and newer stocks would be sold for 2K.

I was also told by the owner not to go for BIG coz' accd. to him only the BIG 6600GT is a BFG OEM while the rest r cheap quality B.S. He also told me that he had had enuf probs with BIG cards that he had stopped dealing with them. Also, he shot over a mail to BFG relating this prob. I think he wrote them if they had authorized BIG to mfg.
or market their OEM cards.

He was also willing to get any card ( ASUS, Giga-Byte or even Gainward ) if anyone wants them. He told me that he had earlier started selling Gainward cards. Once, a customer had a prob. with a card which he sent for replacement. And he didn't get the replacement for 3 mths !!! So, accd. to him, he is willing to get a Gainward card provided that in case of any probs. we deal directly with the national dealers to get replacements and not him.

The Leadtek 7800GTX is also available on demand.

Also, Savera Info. will be getting stocks of ASUS Vento Cabinet in a week.

Nice info. However i wonder if asus will find any buyers for the garish vento. It looks ugly, doesnt cool well, nearly fries hard drives cos of lack of cooling and is made of steel so incredibly heavy. On top of that it costs as much as a CM stacker.... Enuf said :P.

Exactly my thought on seeing the big poster on their entrance. But above all, the info abt. BIG shocked me. Just need to make sure that everyone goes thro' this.

AFAIK,Delta is the disty for Leadtek,BBC fro BIG and XFX.So why would they say anything positive about BIG?
Its like asking the LG showroom guy if the Samsung monitor is good?

They aren't a disty for Leadtek, and definately not upto the level of BBC and their allegiance to XFX, BIG. In fact you'll see more XFX , BIG cards lined up in their shelves than Leadtek ones. A large majority of their sales are XFX , BIG cards as well ;)

Zebronics outlets, particularly one in Spencer plaza are the leadtek disties AFAIK.

He does mention the BIG 6600GT cards are good, but not the rest of the line-up and that sounds believable. Frankly I havent yet come across any user with a BIG card from any of the other models other than the 6600GT :)

Hey ppl., how abt. the OC'bility of the 2 steppings that r available as above ? And also, I've an Antec LanBoy with TP 480. Will the StarIce fit properly in the cabbie ?

Not much clue about the steppings unfortunately, you'll have to google and check around for results. For week 19 CPU's , the OC's seem to vary from 2.4 ~ 2.7Ghz at this link : http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=888001
No sign of the BPHW stepping.
No info on the 3200+ Winchester stepping either, i guess since most people go for the Venice's instead of the Winnie's as of now.

As Eddy said, TwinMOS is available at Ritchie. AFAIK,only one shop has it - Kewal Electronics which is the first shop on the right down the basement opposite to Nakoda Plaza where Delta Peripherals is. This is the Memory Chip available on the module :

Mtec

0532D

TTD7608F8E501

And the Product No. on the sticker on the RAM is :

M2G9J16AHAMK9F081CCDT

It costs Rs. 2450 per 512 module.

Wow cool.... if micron is available. It should have -5BX chips (X varies). It'll either be 5BD or 5BF written on the chips. Both overclock like mad!

Can u tell me how to identify that:)

It should have 5BD/F written on the right hand side of the IC and MT written on the left.

EDIT: There are some crucial chips that use BGA packaging instead of standard TSOP. Avoid those. They don't overclock at all.

they are having the new Vento or the old one ..... i just got the ASUS World mag and the new Vento looks kool ....model no is Vento 7700 ...... and i think ASUS has discountinued the starice ..... i have seen a new heat sink named Silent Square ...... it is having 8 heat pipes and the fan is inside the HS ..... its a tower type HS and the fan is in the middle ..... no scanner tho :( anyways chk the ASUS site

EDIT looks like the heatsink has 10 heat pipes ...

btw guyz the 1GB micron chip is -5BD.

Opty 165 will be available by tuesday and will cost 18k.

Should be the brainpower PCB. Even the Hynix sh1t i see here uses BP PCB's. Almost everyone uses them nowadays. These things are damn good as far as noise is concerned.

And i was so confused for a second with freaky's first post. Felt like a turd :( and was relieved only after i noticed the dates....bumping old threads like this...Damn you saiyan!! Lol..

Raghu.
