Android Has my mobile sim port gone bad?

Still using my 3+ yr old Honor phone.
No 4G, only 3G in first sim tray and 2G in second.

Problem I see is the signal keeps dropping in the first sim slot. It goes to zero and won't connect to mobile tower unless I deactivate it and reactivate it again.

I have Idea and Vodafone sims. Idea was in the 3G slot and Vodafone in 2G.
I tried swapping sims and same happens to the Vodafone sim too when it's put in the 3G slot.

Seeing this problem from past month or so.

Has the sim card slot gone bad?

Check for any update is available for your phone.
Next, you can try factory resetting.
After that, you should go for hardware repairing.

Honor does not do updates. Phone is just like it was while buying.

I don't want to do factory reset on this or any hardware repairing. Phones gone for repair usually come with missing screws or something stops working etc.

I'll just use it for another 5-6 months and upgrade to a new phone next year.
