Hello techies,

For a long time i dont see any new NVIDIA chipsets for motherboards. I think Zotac has some 9 series chipset for some of its motherboards but what about other companies like MSI, ASUS etc ?. For Asus the last series is the 8300 chipset (MID-end). So NVIDIA wont be manufacturing chipsets for motherboards even in future ?

Since i am an NVIDIA fanboy i am worried about this...

nvidia doesnt have the licences to manufacture chipsets for core ix series as well for amd phenom and athlon series(new one).....so that's why whatever motherboards are available they are for older sockets (lga 775 and am2+)and atom only....

I have an mobo supports AM3 and has an NVIDIA chipset mobo is GA-M68M-S2P

* If you install AMD AM3/ AM2+ CPU on AM2 motherboard, the system bus speed will downgrade from HT3.0 (5200MT/s) to HT1.0 (2000 MT/s) spec; however, the frequency of AM3/ AM2+ CPU will not be impacted. Please refer "CPU Support List" for more information.

since as op said am3 cpu's are backwar compatible with am/am2/am2+ sockets theoritically u can use the cpu on those sockets but the HT like will remain at their respective chipset limit only...

one of the best thing Nvidia is doing now is ION platform.

SOme of the mobo that are available in India is by Zotac. The performance is far more better than that made by intel (945GSE )
