guys, Eazy,

looking for Hathway modem 64-bit drivers (As i have 4GB RAM)

i had enuff pains finding drivers myself and manual drivers install on 64-bit OS is not possible. all ive got is 32-Bit Drivers from its official website of modem.

Modem Type. Scientific Atlanta

Modem Model No. 2100

Please help me out.

is it webstar by any chance ?.. i think i have 64 bit drivers for webstar 2000 series (scientific atlanta)

i ve attached the drivers.. let me know if they work.. :)

I got my Webstar modem from Hathway 6 years back, and right from the beginning Hathway discouraged me from using it via a USB port and I have never tried it this way. Does it work just as well off a USB port ? Same speeds for USB and Ethernet ?

I didnt find any difference between USB and ethernet.. but when it comes to compatiblity with OS.. ethernet wins hands down.. cuz most of the lan cards 'now' are compatible with 64 bit OS. I dont know why hathway always says no for USB even when the modem has that option :S .. but i would prefer using ethernet now. Since the last 1 year i ve been using USB, but ever since i shifted to 64 bit vista i had to change over to ethernet.. no difference i tell you :).. you save a USB port for that matter ;)

i have to install 64-Bit OS again. ive reformatted last month. will install it again in a days time and update. i think i have to use ethernet. is IP settings assigned as automatic in ehternet too?

ip settings can be set manually to auto when you install the drivers.. if the above driver will not work, its bye bye to USB and welcome to ethernet, cuz after 40 mins of rigorous searching i got these drivers from a nichè part or internet :P  .. do let me know they work once you have installed the 64 bit OS .. u owe me a party if it works ? j/k
good lord.. looks like i am more anxious than you are regarding this :P

^^ Ahh.. lol i think i shall install vista 64-bit tonighty!

just now i tried ethernet by auto - manual settings, it didnt work in both vista and XP :(

how did you try to install the cable modem? .. did you try to plug-in the usb plug coming from the cable modem to one of ports on the mobo and then wait for it get detected?..

No. i plugged out the USB cable, turned off the modem, plugged in ethernet cable. left all IP settings to auto, turned on modem. IP is not detected after 3-4 mins. did manual ip settings, net didnt work on ethernet. :(

wth.. ethernet should work.. i ve given you drivers for usb not ethernet.. what ethernet adapter are you using ?what isp are you using ?

Arre dude... chill :P ur drivers are for 64-bit and i dont have 64-bit OS installed at the moment but i do have 4GB of ram installed. well.. i am using onboard ethernet adapter found in Asus M3A mobo. its a gigabit lan. using hathway 256unlimited :P

the drivers i provided you are for USB.. not ethernet. For Ethernet to work, you might be having your mobo driver disk. IF the device manager has detected your lan adapter, and if its still not working, there is a problem with the isp.. and yes, i am using hathway too.. and since a couple of days its giving problems.

i know its USB drivers and thats what i wanted.. :P

yeh something wrong with ISP. i am puzzled whether to install 64-bit OS or not.. cause USB is working fine and ethernet isnt... if those drivers doesnt work on 64-bit, i am screwed formatting again to 32buit OS

BTE - in readme is shows "These drivers support Windows 98/98SE/ME and Windows 2000/XP" for the drivers u provided :( i dont think they ever have a 64-bit drivers :P
