Hathway out - Airtel or Tata? Which of these 2?

Hey guys, its time i kicked hathway and shift to a better ISP. I have been a hathway user for nearly 2 years now for the want of comparably priced plans from other ISPs. And in doing so, i had to compromise on my internet with shitty speeds at night time, lame upload speeds, and a bad customer care.

But i have decided to move over to a different ISP now, and i am thinking about Airtel or Tata.

With Airtel i am thinking about the 256 KBps UL plan. And AFAIK, Tata does not have a 256 UL, it has the 384 UL, which i dont mind.

Please chip in with your inputs about the speeds, customer care and downtimes.
 
As for me Airtel has been simply superb, either with speed consistency or timely service. Once i had a problem with my modem, i called up the customer care and it was changed within 2 hours. I don't know bout other ppl's xperience with airtel, but as for me i vote for airtel.
 
Airtel is by far the BEST ISP in country on all counts, bandwidth, service, customer care. I have been using it for the past 4 yrs, and really cant complain about anything! there were probably 2-3 downtimes, at 3am! for like an hour!

And btw Airtel does have 384kbps UL plan. thats wat i am on now..its Rs.999
 
Does Airtel support port forwarding? and what is the speeds on torrents ? the plan's full speed or limited?

Also, does airtel have dynamic ip or static ip?
 
dont go for Indicom i am using it @bangallore...frequent downtimes and i am at 512Kbps but what i get is much lesser and for this they charge me 1700 bucks :(
 
What luck guys!! Just called up airtel and they say that your matter has been closed as their is no network in your area:S :S

i live on Law College Road, and they left pamphlets in our buildings a few months ago announcing the availability of airtel broadband in out locality!!

Not even able to get the coverage map off their site :@
 
airtel is the way to go dude even I kicked the butt of bloody :@ HATHWAY:@ .:D Airtel:D always provides more speed than recommended like I get 100 to 120kbps on my 64kbps connection from 6:00AM to 10:30PM and after that the story is different I get whooping 1900kbps speed:tongue: ;)

Depends on your locations really.

In general Airtel is the better one. But in certain locations (mine for example) both run perfectly + CC is great. Both still in use at different places i sorta work n stuff in.
 
^^ yes in some places connection is good in tata.. But do you play MP games.. have you checked the pings on tata? airtel will excel in that
 
^^ But if you want to judge which is the best each and every factor affecting all types of users need to be taken into account :).. I have BSNl, TATA, Reliance wimax and Airtel.. Among them airtel proves to be best for all needs
 
I'm on a tata indicom line for the last 6 months (128kbps plan). So far the experience has been good with just 2 down times, both fixed within 24 hours.

I forgot to mention it, but yes i do want good pings. Hathwat gives me pings anywhere in the range of 300 - 500 while playing MP.

According to the speedtest results i have seen, Airtel does have better pings than tata.
