hathway is better no downtime from past month when i switched from my old tata quick power 360
i am much satisfied with hatway better than tata's local operators who suck a lot

by the way i use 128 unlimited but some how on fc9 i have managed to get 18k+ torrents :P windows i get 15k :(

i get 60kbps constant on utorrent :hap2:

@nolasco:
where have you heard about the 1mbps plan !!! :O ..

Since yesterday evening my Hathway conx is not working properly, it connects for a few minutes and then gets off line for a few minutes. :@ I have never had this happen before, I suspect that the Hathway overhead cable has a problem and I cannot do anything about it till Monday morning when the engineers come to work. :(

I am not going to waste my time talking to the Hathway helpline people.

It shows on the site that a 1Mbps connection along with a 1Gb limit per month is available for 250rs. Not sure if there are any other 1Mbps plans though. Have seen a few ads on the local cable channel too:ohyeah:

Hathway in pune is crap too!! The speed at night times really sucks, you only get good speed during the day. But every night from around 8-9Pm to 1-2Am the speed becomes half or less than that.

I have switched to Flexi 256 kbps plan as well. Im using hathway from past 2+ yrs. No issues untill last 8 months. After few weeks something or the other creeps up. And from past 3 days im getting no connection after 8 pm. Awfully awfully slow, cant even log on to my messengers!! Anyone else facing same problem or something wrong with my PC?

And as someone mentioned about getting low speeds in torrents, yes I too getting low speeds while downloading through torrents. Otherwise on a normal day i get 26-28-30 kbps.

Hathway works like a charm when everything is fine but pathetically sucks when it goes bad!

i was thinkin to get hathway....think need to reconsider:P

Would have recommended hathway for sure had someone asked last year, since their plans were nicely priced. But with the drop in plan charges of other ISP, it seems wise to change from hathway to other ISPs.

Airtel also has a 256 UL plan @ 699/-. You could think about it.

..but...but... Hathway have also recently reduced their 256kbps Unlimited plan to 650/- + taxes. When Hathway works it works very fine.

I had complained to Hathway a week ago about bad conx and they have rung me twice since then to check if my conx was fine !! How's that for service :)

not to argue with eazy sir :) but i have around 19 tickets numbers which have never been worked on
but i have a reason to defend too when it comes to speed.. they give what they promise.. i get full 64kbps anytime when i download from torrents or anything for that matter. So all in all hathway is good, cant say that its worst than any other isp neither can i say thats it better than any other isp.. :) .. i am satisfied. Its just the last 3 weeks we are facing issues as Eazy sir said that there was an overhead cable cut... i was given the same reason - so i stickzor to hathway for now :D

Agreed hathway is cheaper by about 49/-, but airtel atleast offers constant speed 24 hours.
two calls just to see if its working fine!! I cant even connect to the cust. care in day times to lodge a complaint. I have to call up at 1 2 in the night to get to him, when he sounds as if i just woke him from sleep :ohyeah:

He asked me to mail him some screenies for the speedtest, have not recieved any reply or response yet.

I would shift to Airtel but like I have mentioned before they have service across the road to my residence and are refusing to come across the road. :(

Are we both talking about the same ISP .... Hathway ?? :ohyeah: your experiences and mine are so different !! I never get connected to their Helpline at night, they pick up the phone only after 8AM (probably sleeping at night). :P

I have stopped ringing up the Hathway Helpline, all they do is say "the line is under maintenance - try after 2 hours" or "keep your modem on for 2 hours and you will get connected" ... or something stoopid like this. I now call up the place where the engineers for my area are located and they get the problem solved the same day if the problem is in my area itself. I got their number when they called me some time back - I have a Caller ID phone :P They normally dont give out their number.

Hathway have their own speed test... check it out ... dont miss the line at the bottom "Do Multiple Downloads together to confirm your total bandwidth" (which I think is BS) ....Hathway Cable Internet Connection | Speed Test..........

It has been the best ISP for me........I do agree that at night the speed we get is slow but in the morning i get around 65kbps transfer rate in 512kbps plan. Also at night if I download torrents then i get around 45-50kbps.
So for me I download movies at night in torrents and morning football videos and softwares which are on hosting sites like Rapidshare.
