Have to buy Digicam Today yaar!! Help?

Budget 12k max.. :( with extra 512 or 1gb memory card and charger accessories i can touch 13k..

Canon A530 is nice but i was just wondering if i should look for A540 or 550??
is it worth that extra booty? as the transition is from 5MP (530) to 7.1 MP..

Also, is there anything else i should look for? How about Olympus SE 110, SE 210?

lol i am pressed for time.. so need a quick n conclusive reply friends.. thanks..:)
 
Get the most expensive Canon that fits in your budget, simply ;) !

Edit : 5.1MP is more than enuf for 8x6 prints. Save the cash for extra batteries and memory ;)
 
Canon A530 is an amazing camera... i your budget go for that...like anish said its enough for 8x6 prints, if u want those :p
 
I've been quoted 13.5K in mumbai for the A710IS. seems worth it, simply because of the higher specs, zoom and IS...DP review scores it well too
 
Watever camera you decide... make sure its got Image Stabilization (IS), its really helps specially if you are taking pics zoomed in.
 
I bought an A710 IS for my brother and so far its a pretty nice camera. Didn't get too much time for shooting outdoors cos of bad weather but its pretty decent indoors with flash.

Edit: Those sify prices are too good to be true. Guaranteed scam or grey market :P.
 
lol.. i bought the cam before you guys could reply.. as i said i was pressed for time.. anyhow, i guess i have not made a wrong choice.. i got A540 finally with 1gb kingston card, charger, 2 batteries and cover for 14k..

I thought A530 has 1.8" screen and its 5mp.. so spending a bit more to get 2.5' screen and 6 mp made me to buy A540.. so far the result of A540 is nice.. its video quality is nice too.. as its 30fsp as compared to A530 which is 15fsp..

the best quality video of A540 can reach upto 60 fsp.. but yes, this cam is for pictures and its great for that.. thanks everyone.. i came to the decision to buy A540 or A530 by reading the other posts, where you have suggested the same.. :)
 
I know this won't be of any use to you but still to let other ppl here know about cheap digicams avble in India...
I saw a review of Tech-Com's 5.1 MP Digi cam on Digit this month.
It had good reviews, it scored well and the price was somewhere arnd 6k :S ...
It even looked stylish in Black + silver..
 
hi members me too planning on buying a digicam the sify prices are too good to be true if u compare it with jjmehta prices,but one thing jjmehta gives two year warranty i.e from canon india but sify gives only one year warranty so are they selling grey market stuff

p.s hi lounge can you post some pictures taken in bad lighting conditions and outdoor ones thank you
 
hi members between these two which is better Canon Powershot A710 IS and Canon Powershot S3IS,what about sify any idea and lounge plz post some pics thank you
 
A710 IS is a compact cam, a S3 IS is a superzoom camera...depends on what you need. Also there should be at least 8k price difference between the two..
