Have you ever been to an orphanage?

Hi guys, i was planning to donate some books, cd's, vcd's and a few other stuff to an orphanage. Has anyone of you ever been to one? How was your experience and for what purpose did you go there?


P.S : All Delhi members please suggest me the name, address, contact number of an orphanage which is near Rajiv Chowk and accepts donations for different things, I got to go this sunday so please help me fast.
 
That's quite a noble thought. But I really doubt if most kids at the facility will be able to use cd's and vcd's. Try donating old clothes, shoes and other similar stuff which you might no longer use. Also, as goodwill, buy some candies in bulk to distribute at the orphanage. Good luck and do report how it went.
 
Most of them at least when i had a plan of visiting them were located near Ashram chowk . have no further info.

Yeah, I will see what I can give, first I have to see if one is accessible to me or not.

Do you know any orphanage which is accessible via metro?
 
Please dont give cash to manager or care taker. Damn, they misuse them for personal things & kids rarely get it.

Better take clothes, books, shoes which kids can use.
 
There is one near to Uttam nagar metro station..its named as ALAMB, plot-13,phase-5, Block-B,Om Vihar, Near Holy International school. Contact person is Rustam (011-25354225)

Yeah, that is what I am planning, I will not take any money for them. Just a few items which the children can use.

Thanks a lot for this but sadly as of now I don't have the time to go as far as Uttam Nagar, I just wish there were any orphanages near CP.

yeah, but looking at the conditions it seems my visit might get slightly delayed.
