A simple box that the user would tick to confirm they're not posting duplicate threads?

Please?

Sick of seeing noobs spamming forums when searches yield most relevant results!

Must be made compulsory in all help and troubleshooting sections.

No, not that kind of an addon.

Basically this is for people who are posting, not reading posts.

Since most people have stopped reading the boards and posting at will, a lot of info gets carried in multiple thread - Phenom II was a recent example, and now the Intel price cuts. Everybody harking for their own glory.

When I'm looking for something, I'll search anyway. This feature is a courtesy that you need to extend to other users, indicating that you've already searched and have come up blank (no thread with a relevant answer for you) or are not posting something that's already posted.

^^ On lines of that, please do encourage people naming their threads correctly, not only it makes search much easier, but also makes browsing the forum a better experience.

I had posted about that, but apparently it's too resource intensive.

No ! The one you suggested is dynamic. It automatically search the posts on the basis of thread title.. Thus utilizing more resource..

While this one has to be done manually , so saves bandwidth that gets waste unnecessarily in the dynamic search.. Or should say this one is the modified version of the dynamic search :bleh:

+1 to the suggestions.. Should be implemented :ohyeah:
