Since I know that firefox users are a minority on TE, I thought lets share this interesting news since 50% of TE users who use Chrome may never witness this.

Firefox 29 has a new look and promises to be faster and much simpler to use. The layout has gone through significant changes, the browser itself boasts over 1300 changes.

How about you give it a try and share your opinion on whether its a good change or a change only for the sake of it.

Saw this at work - looked great. Have not had time to play with it so far. Will stick with chrome for my browsing however, inspite of the two finger scroll issues I am facing with Windows + Synaptics touchpad.

That new side pop-up panel looks nice, but won't be much use to me as I use keyboard shortcuts extensively on Firefox. But it does look good. Maybe I will upgrade.

I also checked, looked nice and all. Haven't used extensively yet though. Still using older version.
As long as they have the option of putting separate proxy settings, i have no complaints.
At work my internet access is through a proxy server and in internet explorer we do not use any proxy and IE is used for my work softwares. Chrome is useless for internet at work since it does not have its own proxy settings and uses what IE has (hate this thing).

Use the --proxy-server flag while starting chrome - make a new shortcut. Would suggest to tell your company to implement WPAD instead ;)

I have been using the updated FF for last few days.
Notable change for me - the chrome like tabs. But if I open lots of tabs, it doesn't becomes smaller after some size and scroll buttons pops up on both sides.
And from when "Close Tabs to the Right" present in FF !!! is it added in V29?
The sync in much better now - just with a mail id - unlike those number matching junk.
For menu options, I still use "alt". Don't care about the new 'customizable' avatar.

Don't know why everyone is copying chrome UI. After opera, ff too is "chromized", luckily addon is available for reverting back to old UI.
Which i felt saves more real estate and is friendlier to use on desktop

Firefox also has sync across devices. Is it not as functional ?

And sync is one of the improved functionalities. Though I have to try it myself.

The only reason I switched to chrome was coz Firefox would become unresponsive for a few seconds.

The websites look better on Firefox with thicker rendering of fonts.

I have tried it whatever I search in Chrome for lone periods comes up in Google Now and some of related articles are quite useful in the long run. I want Google Now to understand what is important to me and its easily achievable using chrome.

I tried that flag thing and it did not work.

Weird - has worked for me.

Make a copy of the existing shortcut on your desktop, rename it to Chrome No Proxy, append "--no-proxy-server" to the end so that it looks like this :

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --no-proxy-server

It sucks B@!!$ ..... Now xmarks does not sync between Safari and firefox. Everytime it syncs, my bookmarks in safari go into the "favourites bar" and then in firefox it goes into "bookmarks bar" its a nightmare. It never happened previously.

You can use ff variants like palemoon, waterfox & cyberfox which are available in 64 bit also. Sans australis
