Hello,
i have been a long time lurker and sometimes even made my presence by posting here and there. I like countless others come to this site amongst others to get my daily tech fix.
Their have been many times where i have been given much needed advice on what components to get and why to get them in the first time. When followed, sometimes we as the consumers end up with a rare or unfortunate "Lemon". Now let me be a little frank and honest. When this happens we are generally sent running from pillar to post between manufacturer and dealer and we as Indians run around trying to get things sorted out. I'm not saying we should stop and demand some fancy concierge service but we should have someone to go to with our grievances. Someone who can help us or even guide us along and tell us how to go about the process's many of us don't know even existed.
I regularly read The Sorcerers blog and today morning while reading his blog, it finally hit me and i must admit that i cant agree more with him. We on TE need a representatives corner, simply to facilitate a better customer-producer relationship. I mean if you think about it, even the dealers on TE have a feedback section so why not have one for the manufacturers.
Its not like the Indian market has not been flooded by almost all the major producers of computer hardware. Lets look at some major forums who have a vendor section
1)Overclock.net
2)xtremesystems.org
and many many more
A vendor rep section would help all on TE. The customers as they could directly interact with someone higher up in the chain who could help them or guide them along and the members as they could get the much needed guidance in certain situations.
I do understand that creating and maintaining such a section would be hard and taxing on the mods and admins and also that for such a section to even exist, the manufacturers must be willing to create and maintain a rep for the site, but with such a large platform and what can be thousands saved in countless ways, i dont see why a company and its PR department would not be willing to do so. Infamous cases like ASUS india and countless others can potentially repair their damaged conditions by having their rep solve issues and clear messes.
i sincerely request the mods and admins to consider this and tell all of us what you guys have to say about this. I would also like to hear comments from all on TE about what they have to say.
Also thanks to Sorcerer for motivating me to write this.
On that note, i have to study (Stupid exams on my head
)
Cheers and kind regards to all on TE
