PC Peripherals having problem with ddr3 ram frequency and processor performance

Disciple
i have purchased G.Skill rDDR3 ram and AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Processor

2 x 2gb 10666 (1333MHz) DDR3 G.Skill ram
AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor
but when i check the details in CPU-Z it tells me that the ram is working at 533MHz.
the "Windows Assessment Index" give me a low 3.6/7.9 for my processors calculations per second. i feel it is very low for what i own.
i dont understand the problem.

my specs
amd phenom II x4 955
ECS A790GXM-AD3 motherboard
2 x 2gb ddr3 1333mhz G.Skill ram (7-7-7-18 Latency)
XFX Radeon HD 4870 1gb ddr5 graphic card
RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630SS 630W ATX12V V2.2/ EPS12V SLI Ready CrossFire Ready Modular Modular LED Power Supply

i dont understand what to do. can someone plz post a solution in detail.

Hello :)

umm 533 means your ram is working at 1066 MHz and not 1333 MHz.

Check bios and adjust your ram timing manually. Your bios must be on auto for ram timing. It's got to do with not reading the rams XMP profile.

this is the same thingy as when you buy ddr2 1066 and your bios detects it as ddr2 800..

it had to be set manually in the bios to 1066 and it worked just fine..

so please check bios sir :)

But also 7.5 score for the ram is good.. nothing to worry there.. but 3.9 on the processor rating is a bit puzzling..

Just my 2 cents.

Cheers

Looks like you have AMD's CnQ* option turned on.

Its a power saving option when the processor is idle, so it drops the CPU core down to 800 (4x200) or 1000MHz (5x200);
whereas the C2Ds* EIST option drops the CPU to 1.6 (6x266) and 1.2 (6x200) GHz.

Go in the Bios, check if you have CnQ option - it should be Disabled.

CnQ* = Cool n Quiet
C2D* = Core2Duo

You can also try this instead of going into BIOS >

In Vista's Power Options. In the Advanced Options, set CPU power settings in the Minimum usage to 100%. Or select High Performance profile.

thnx a billion. tht solved my cpu problem. i disabled CnQ option. now my cpu runs perfect. gets a solid 7.3 rating out of 7.9

but now it sounds like a jet engine

i dont understand the bios settings for solving my ram problem

There is one option DRAM Frequency (set to auto)
if i set tht to manual i get 5 options for MEMCLOCK VALUE
400MHz
533MHz
667MHz
800MHz
Auto

The other option tht i get is DRAM TIMING MODE (Set to auto)
options are
DCT 0
DCT 1
Both

Other option is BANK INTERLEAVING (set to auto)
options are
Auto
Disabled

Last option is CHANNEL INTERLEAVING (set to XOR of Address bits [20:16,6])
options are
Disabled
Address bits 6
Address bits 12
XOR of Address bits [20:16,6]
XOR of Address bits [20:16,9]

can some1 plz tell me what settings should i do to to make my ram work properly

Select 800Mhz save and reboot. Then start CPUZ

select 667 bro.. thats ddr 3 1333 MHZ..

dont run ddr3 800 cause that is for ddr 1600 mhz..

basically just double the value in the bios for actual ram frequency.

for example 533x2 is 1066 and 667 x2 is 1333...

cheers bro :)

thnx big time bro
but wat do i do about the latency. how do i set tht manually?
