The Sakshat Tablets will be distributed in institutions by the HRD ministry. Currently there are no plans for selling the tablet to public.

wonder if it will really be given to kids. half the money will vaporise and the rest will trickle down after the school kids graduate from college.

If I'm not mistaken, 2200 is the retail price,for college people its even lower at 1100...at least that's the idea.If we can pull this off then we are certainly going in the right direction.

Acually this project is announced Loooong back and back then it is quoted as rs500/- then after few days it became 1500. after a few obstacles HCL backed out for some reason and again now they are in . The project is completed and now we have to see how far this is a success.
