ok, i wanna purchase a HD laptop...found these 2

Amazon.com: Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV680 17" Notebook PC (Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7300, 2 GB RAM, 320 GB Hard Drive, HD SuperMulti DVD Drive, Vista Ultimate): Electronics
Amazon.com: Toshiba Satellite X205-S9359 17" Notebook PC (Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T7300, 2 GB RAM, 320 GB Hard Drive, HD SuperMulti DVD Drive, Vista Ultimate): Computers & PC Hardware

:) ...just wanna know which is better.....g45 has a bigger res. it supports 1080p.

but the other doesnt...specs r almost same...with hddvd rom too...

or u guyz have any other alternative ??

//thanks

I would recommend the X-205 over the Qosmio. It has 8700m GT compared to the 8600m GS in the G45. the 8700m GT is pretty much the best DX10 GPU for laptops out there right now.

Other option for you is the Sony AR series with the Blue Ray Drive.

well, what what abt the screen res. for FULL HD in qosimo ? sony has better gfx+the screen res. ?

hey bro i would suggest a qosmio any day: though youd be paying a premium for that but still. Toshiba's qosmio and satelite= dell's xps and inspiron. So the equation is really that simple. Plus a few days back i saw a qosmio( dont remm specs) but it had amazing speakers. I guess finally between the 2 it would come down to a matter of budget!! though personally i dont feel the qosmio justifies the premium charged for it..

Sony Vaio AR Series -> CTO | Customize

This has full HD support and Blue Ray disc to boot.

Dell 1720

You can configure this too with a Blue Ray Drive and WUXGA screen.

HP HDX Notebook

Big Daddy 20" screen along with a HD DVD drive & ATI 2600XT GFX card

If you can live with a 20" laptop, HP is the way to go. Otherwise would recommend Sony AR Series over both Dell & Toshiba. Though if i were you, i wouldnt place my bets on either HD-DVD or Blue Ray just yet. Better buy a notebook with a normal DVD drive. After you are sure one format has won, you can anyways upgrade you notebook drive easily.

alright...can u gimme the link for HP HDX Notebook ??

//thanks

Dell 1720 has blu-ray or hd dvd drive ?

and Toshiba Satellite X205-S9359 has 1440x900 res. right ? if yes, then there is no point going with the satellite !!!

The Toshiba Satellite X205 has incredible value for money as it is the fastest DirectX 10 laptop at the moment and if you can get past the lower resolution screen, the specs are good as per the reviews. :)

^^yeah ! i cant thts d fkin prb !! so ? dell 1720 or qosmio ?? can i add the new x-fi sound card in the laptop ? btw, dell has that option @ the config. page tho..

//thanks

thanks guys, i am going for Toshiba Qosmio G45-AV680 or Sony VGN-AR 570.....

just one question, can we plug-in the new x-fi sound card into any one of these laptops ?
