Tried a Jodha akbar 1080p Once...Corrected the video (color , Sharpness etc) and Brought it Down to 720p...Took Me 11 days On a Core 2 duo System :)

You can use HJSplit to split and join movie or any files quickly. Winrar will take much more time
no friend just select 'store' when archiving bet winrar or 7zip

as media files cant be compressed further [codec used in a file are already in compressed forms else an uncompressed file of 2hr will be 150-200 GB]

if u wonna test it urself then just load a video in virtual dub [if video not supported then create an avisynt script to load]and save as avi dont select any codec .... see the diff in size :D

perhaps due to the heavy color correction that i applied.....

Thanks for the replies friends.

I hv used Any video converter and hv converted the 7.5 gb movie to 750 mb movie by reducing the size from 1280*584 to 720*576 frame size with 512 bitrate.

But it took me just 7-8 hours to convert it but the quality was also reduced to 10 % of the HD movie quality.

I knew that this is one method of reducing the size, but there should be a software which does not reduce the quality much but reduces more of the size like using DIVX codec etc.

The issue here is your 512 bitrate which may be too low for tat resolution resulting in blocky images at that resolution.
