Intel E4300 4850

XFX 650i Ultra 6000

XFX 8600GT 8900

Corsair 1GB DDR2 667MHz get 2 gb ram 2000*2

You'll need a new PSU, read my post above...

AMD X2 3600+ 3000
Jetway 690G/Asus M2N-MX 3300
2GB Transcend 3800
Zebronics 320MB 8800GTS 16000

The total cost will be a max of 3k or so more than the 8600GT config which is a terrible video card in raw performance. DX10 support means jack if it cant run any DX10 games at acceptable frame rates.

^^ this wont work since his existing psu wont be able to support 8800 GTS
 
I doubt if it will be able to handle a 8600 GTS effectively too..

LOL those 450 rated Intex wont generate more then 250 wattage of power...

This is Lamm road price or leagal price(means with bill+VAT) ???
 
Thats Lamington Road price, and get a new PSU with it.

Cooler Master eXtreme 600W for 4k

It'll be a true miracle if your Intex PSU works with that rig

OK.......now i guess most of the peeps here wud recommend the C2D over the AMD here......its cheaper by a great margin ( you can check approx prices at TheITWares - Buy Computer Hardware , PC Components , Laptop Computers - One Stop for all Gizmos!!)
Now coming bak to the GFX card discussion............i wud say the 8600GT is a pretty mid-end card considering the current games and the future games........it will give you little head room for the future products......now its elder brother the 8600GTS has been pointed out as a waste of money since the GT can be oerclocked easily to the GTS..... u can go ahead with the 8600GT or wait a month or so for the 2600XT which i dont think you can coz u are buyin on monday....so get the GT and oc it to the GTS level.....
Ur mobo and Ram queries can be better solved by others
