Hey guys, I have got budget of 27K bucks for upgrade. The following are the things that I WILL buy,

1) AMD Phenom II X4 945 - Rs.6,900
2) Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H AM2+ Mobo - Rs.4,000
3) Corsair VX450 - Rs.4,000
4) GTS 250 - Rs.7,700
Total: Rs.22,600

I already have,
1) 80GB + 160GB internal HDD, 320GB external HDD
2) 2 x1GB DDR2 800MHz

I would have Rs.4.4K left.

The following are the things I WOULD LIKE to buy for the reason stated in the brackets,
1) Seagate 1TB Internal HDD - Rs.3,700 (I am running out of space with all the games & movies)
2) 2 x1GB DDR2 800MHz - Rs.2,800 (Maybe this will give me better gaming performance for GTA IV, Splinter Cell: Conviction @ 1440x900)

Now, I am confused & cannot make my mind which to do now & which to do later amongst the two mentioned above!!! Please help me out!!!

Sell those internal HDDs:

80gb - 700

160gb - 1100

Now you are left with 6200

Used 1TB Hdd~ 3400

2x1GB Ram: 2800

I would have said if I could sell any existing component; beside nobody is going to pay that much for old HDDs, 160GB HDD would sell for 800 bucks maybe & 80GB for 500 bucks. Please suggest me which can be pushed for a couple of months. Are the 4 GBs of RAM really gonna make a huge difference? Or should I take care of the Storage issue first?

the quote he has mentioned is correct

create a new FS thread for your HDD's and you will surely get something around 1500rs or more depending on condition and warranty

4gb rams are needed now a days to play high end games.....so sell your current hdds and buy a 1 tb...

and btw if you are short of cash then go for something 2nd hand....but buy a hdd and rams

if u don't want to sale any thing then go for hdd because as you as you mentioned you are runing low on space and i thing u need a new hdd first and besides that u can still play those games u mentioned with 2 gb ram with a gts 250

I'd buy the RAM myself. There should be lots of stuff on the HDD which can be swapped out to DVDs or plain deleted.

you can get both.

80Gb shall go for 750 if under warranty and the 160 shall fetch you around 1000..again if under warranty.

i suppose you can adjust 200 bucks and get 500GB for now.

it will be faster than those old gen drives.

warranty will be renewed in a way.

and you are left with a budget for a memory upgrade at the end of it :)

GTS 250 - Rs.7,700

Any particular reason for foing for GTS250? You can get a Sapphire HD 4850 1GB GDDR3 for 6.6k. Performance is similar and u save 1k :)

At Rs.7650 you can get a Power Color AX5750 1GBD5-PDH - PCS Edition which performs 5-7% better than the 1GB GTS 250 with half the power consumption and you get DX11 as bonus.

The choice of GPU is not so good.

The thing is HD 4850 is not available here....the HD 4xxx series is totally not available; as for HD 5750, it's being quoted Rs.8,300 here. I shall be using the system for a year or 1.5 yrs max then I'll sell it out & make a system depending upon where am being placed for Job (completing my MBA in an year). So I think for the next 1 year GTS 250 is a good deal, isn't it?

You can get it from TE dealers. Shipping is just Rs.100. You can avail warranty in any service center of a particular brand. I don't think getting a GTS250 is a great choice when u can get a HD5750 for the same price.

Dude...you totally changed my choice now...I am going with HD 5750 now :D Thanks. I think I'll get a 500GB HDD rather than a 1TB & gonna get one piece of 1GB DDR2 now & another next month or I'll hold the money & buy both together next month. Thanks guys.
