These greedy bastards/mother****ers will try to suck money citing the flood as a reason. Let us see how long they are going to do this.....

Ur words represents how you want to present yourself in public. So lets gives the readers a fair chance to judge you better than giving a false (if any) impression.

why are you getting angry mate ?. Even in other countries the price hasnt come down. I stated about the persons who are responsible for this i.e, the manufacturers and may be the distributors...

My statement is only general and i dont know why it hurts you...

It seems that it is you who has a poor understanding and judging sense and you want others to waste time by judging me as you do now...

I can judge from your attitude that you dont have any other business.

It is going to come down. Expect a reduction in July~August.

However, dont expect much of a reduction or pre flood levels. The expected rate cut is 20% from the existing rates, so a 2TB should be around 5.5K/6K.

As for where I got this info from, a friend planned to get a NAS for his office [He is modernizing the whole place], so he went and asked a dealer who told him to wait.

Also, finally, it will still be expensive compared to pre flood rates as the warranty has also been slashed by a year.

sorry to say.. u are getting personal here..

and what suggested you that I am angry and your statements hurt me?? if at all anyone, its you who mistook my post and your attitude and a loose tounge was clearly visible from your first post.

I was rather being pretty polite to drive the point home. BTW, such words are not encouraged on a public forum like TE. I wish mods will better judge you on this as I am reporting you for the usage of foul language.

Coming to business, its none of my business to correct anyone here but I surely will take the responsibility of keeping a reputed forum like TE clean from uncalled verbal usage and dirt.

I was hoping to get a 2TB for 4k

Like my previous one i got in last July
<
6k still too expensive

Guess i've to start deleting stuff to make way for new downloads

Maybe next year ... :sigh:

The prices will remain high for a long time - till 2014 according to some analysts. The companies are trying to earn back the damages caused by the flood.

#[member='jinvidia'].Bro,he's right, you can't use words that strong here. It's a forum rule and it's unpleasant for a lot of readers. That being said, no one's judging you or anything,it's completely ok for a person to swear and it's not a reflection of their character. So,don't pursue the argument beyond this point.

Peace,

Start buying 2TB as soon as they reach ~5700, it does not make sense to purchase it at higher rates than that. Reliability is still an issue. And warranty periods are at all time low.

yeah, the prices would never hit the low levels again, esp. with dear letsbuy.com in its v2.0 avatar would never give us the spectacular coupons!

this condition for hdds is unexpected. God only knows when it comes down..

May be in order to recover the losses caused by the flood they are priced high and will continue till they are realized...

Praying that the prices should come down atleast by the 3rd quarter of this year...

Yes,that's exactly what the analysts said.Even after they recover all losses they will be in no hurry to reduce the prices, the price reduction might proceed gradually just like it did before the flood happened.
