Storage Solutions HDD Repair in Mumbai?

Ok so my 750GB drive from the US even though it states warranty valid in the online checker when i select India, its not from a distributer in india so no RMA.

Anyways there was a power surge which kinda killed it, im guessing pcb damage or burns? burns arent visible tho....

Anyone know of any good, cheap :D hdd repair shops in mumbai??? who can fix it ??
 
You should try RMA nonetheless. Seagate is trying to improve image in India. Else find a 750GB whose heads have crashed.
 
i did rma it, those idiots sent it back without any note or email or nething as to why....contacted them and then they say not from an indian distri....

highly unlikely that ill find a seagate 750gigger here, no other option :( ?

wierd part is wen i did the same warranty checker + i emaild and asked seagate then they said warranty is valid in india. this is for my old 500gig from the US

These guys have an office at lamington road in the building after the police station and another one at Parel near the ITC Hotel.
The lamington office has a nameplate saying something similar to 'HRC Mumbai '.
They will charge you a minimum of 250-500 to find out the problem and give an estimate cost for the repair required.

If you do not have data in the HDD which you want to retrieve at any cost, there is no sense in going for HDD repair.

Just dispose it safely & buy a new one

^These agencies will charge you an arm and a leg for the same & they are mainly for those who want to recover the data
 
dude is your hdd a seagate made?

log onto seagate website and chat live with their personals.

they will surely find a way out for sure.
 
i dont 'need' the data, just want to repair the drive.... since its from the US cant RMA here..... already tried with seagate.

so anyone that repairds drives.... i dnt want a 750gigger js sitting at home :S
 
Seems unlikely that u would get the 750 repaired in mumbai..... :(

Get it RMAed from the US through sumone or else, contact Seagate USA via mail & ask them if the Indian ASC can do the RMA. If yes, who should be approached.

If they reply in the +ve, take a print of the mail & approach the RMA authorities here..... But I doubt u'll get International warranty coverage. :(
