Hey fellas,
I have a small query, is the HDD Sentinel app a reliable disk info tool? I have a lot of data on 5 internal drives and check them regularly with this app.

They are, I have never used HDD Sentinel so cannot comment on that, they act as a second opinion.

For the first layer of warnings and precautions go into the BIOS and switch of hard-drive S.M.A.R.T. reporting function.

It is a tool to detect any failure/temp etc.. so why is it recommended to turn it off?

HDD Sentinel is as good as HD Tune . people prefer either depends on interface and amount of information required.

i hve been using hdd sentinel for several years now and find it very reliable for health monitoring especially as i have 4 HDD in my desktop

infact i was not using it in my office laptop and on getting lots of problems which i thought was hdd based, checked with hdd sentinel and found my laptop hdd was in real bad shape ... immediately took backups , else would have lost data

real useful tool , even lets u know if ur facing hdd cable related issues

HDD Sentinel is a Must have app for me,...some of the first few programs that i install after putting in a new OS
Have been doing so similarly for the last 6 years with my 7 internal hdd drives that i own till now!

I've tried it either and do not see the need specially with windows 7 default management tool.
I've used acronis though and liked it.
