Hi,

I wanted to buy a HDMI hub so needed advice on it.

I am going to use a PS3 and my PC using the HDMI hub.

I am getting confused between the names,,,some say splitter ,,switcher so dont know which is the right one to be bought

Right now I have sorted down three of the HUBs from Global Easy buy.

1) 1080P HDMI Switch Switcher for HDTV Xbox PS3 PC+cable (Rs. 1304)

2) New 3 Port HDMI Switch Switcher Splitter for HDTV 1080P (Rs. 1265)

3) 5 PORT HDMI Switch Switcher Selector Hub + Remote 1080p (Rs. 1795)

If any one has any other suggestions apart from the above or can I get it from somewhere else then it would be of great help to me :)

But is there any difference between the splitter and switcher or both are the same things?

If any one using please give your inputs

From where you brought and for how much??

If I buy from Global easy buy then it will take at least ten days to reach me :(

Do u see any drop in picture quality while using it ?

As far as i think the splitter will split the signals between the PC and the PS3 and so there will be drop in picture quality but the switcher will not.

HDMI carries digital data , so, unless there is a blunder in the build you wont notice a difference in the picture quality

Buy that one you will be happy with it :D

@strategy

Thanks for the headsup :)

I had read on the net that the HDMI cable connection thing is either 1 or 0 means it either works or doesn't work...there is no drop in picture quality...either there will be output or no output..so same is applicable for the HDMI hub to it seems

Correct me If I am wrong

no.
The cable carries digital data which has 0s and 1s , but there are millions of zeros and ones in a second.

More the errors the badder the quality

the coding method applied ensures that any error due to noises is corrected, and thus there are only few errors in transmission. this is why digital interface is preferred over analog. in analog the quality of conductors plays an important role due to the same reason , but in digital transmission unless its very very good ( or very very bad) there is not much difference.

Sorry for the late reply and to miss replying to your PM Sujit. I have got the 2nd HDMI Hub that you have listed in your first post, works like a charm, without any degradation in quality. :)
