Sony LCD NX520
or
Samsung LED 32EH5000

Well... Im aware that Samsung gives LED backlit at the same price of Sony which is LCD (non-LED).

Both FUll HD, 2x HDMI, 1x USB.

Purpose- general television viewing and HD ripped content.

Why is Samsung cheaper?
But still I am confused.:unsure:

Samsung is not cheap... Sony is unreasonably expensive.
"Of the two" go for Samsung.

---------- Post added at 02:38 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:34 PM ----------

Sony Power Consumption Approx. 115W (In operation)
Samsung Power Consumption: 39 W (Operational)
Other topics are debatable and vary as per individual's likings ....

I would recommend you Sony as it is a more reliable co. and samsung is using cheap / Chinese material in its products and therefore it does not last as long as Sony does. Can you give the price at which you are getting these so that people can help you find better deals.

Thank you friends.

Here comes the price factor-

Sony NX520 = 34,900/-
Samsung 35EH5000 = 34,500/-

I know Sony, being non-LED, is expensive. But how come that is unreasonable? Really, I am not offending your opinion. But can you justify it?

Wow! Now that is quite a feedback. :P

Could you link me up to some sources to back your claims please?

Those claims are from the uncle in the old electronic shop still pushing Sony brands as synonym to quality and everything else is cheap.

Typical noobish reply. That's just sad.

@OP LCD and LED are similar technologies. LED are thinner and consume less electricity.
Samsung panels tend to be over saturated at stock and Sony tends to be natural.

As costs are the same, go for Samsung if you are happy with 1 year warranty or jump to Sony and extend your warranty by 2 years for some extra cash.

One of my relative owns a Sony World in HYD still I am giving you this honest suggestion.
FYI. Sony does not mfd their own LCD panels. They source it from Panasonic/Samsung(Recently they broke the deal with Sammy)
@OP: I dont doubt the quality of both the models you have posted. Both are good but be practical and buy LED. Look at the power consumption diff. Also Samsung is the leader in this segment.
I am a Samsung display fan but purchased LG myself only for one reason that I wanted Passive 3D. In your case Samsung should be the choice.. As far as the rates are concerned...
Ask anyone or inquire anywhere.. you can bargain in Samsung ... With Sony the margins are very tight.
My house is filled with Sony stuff as my brothers are crazy about Sony quality right from the first Triniton came our home in the mid 80s.
As I had earlier said other aspects are quite debatable.
I repeat again.... Out of the two go for Samsung.

BTW Samsung is not Chinese crap... its Korean... and its too good to ignore :)

I am out of touch with prices. However if you can push you budget a little bit more (by 8-10K). Maybe, maybe you would be able to get a 40" or 42" LED TV.

Reason I am saying this is after spending around 35K - if all you get is only a 32" [which in reality is just like watching a 29" old format TV .... just a wee bit more] and hardly exciting to watch Full-HD content. Whereas on a 40" or 42" - It makes a huge difference to your viewing experience.

Which city are you from ? Have you checked LG ...... Go to their official showrooms & you can bargain upto 25% off on the MRP (especially if you have an old TV to exchange). Do not go for the "Smart-TV" range as these are priced 5-7K more.

Cheers

Thank you all for the replies. Not quoting everyone separately.

I've read somewhere that Samsung is the largest manufacturer of panels and provides even to Sony. Okay. But that is just.

I like Samsung because there is only Full HD Led at it's price. I saw Discovery HD on it and it was superb. Sharper, brighter and more dynamic range than any non-LED tv. It's only that I was wondering why is it is lower on price.

Im from Pune. I think Samsung is good choice. I cannot increase budget than 35k. 32" is fine for me :)

^^ Since U have mentioned that you are from Pune I would reckon you to visit a few shops and zero in on the model and then get the best price.
Jumbo and Ezone do lower their rates a lot. Like a D5500 model was displayed at a discount price of 65k at Jumbo and after I bargained they were ready to give it for 57k + wifi dongle free.
So bargain shamelessly... U will definitely get a good deal.
