Need to buy a TV for the hall.

1. Budget.
1 lakh




2. Viewing distance.
12 to 15 feet




3. Sources/inputs such as HD DTH/consoles/stand-alone media players etc.


HD DTH, Xbox 360, HDD.




4. Preference for plasma TV/LCD TV/LED-LCD TV.
anything with great quality to power consumption ratio.




5. Preference for brands.
Samsung, LG, Panasonic.




6. Willing to purchase it from the grey market?
No.




7. Ambient lighting conditions of the room.
Hall. Yellow light overhead.




8. Any other feature you are looking for such as 3D support on the HDTV, DLNA capabilities etc.
Passive 3D if possible.

Hmm if you don't mind plasmas, check out the Samsung E518000 model. 51 inch model which they have recently dropped in price from 136000 to 95000 (available for even 85k in places like Chennai). It has all the features of the Samsung 8 series LED.

Location?
Since you prefer passive 3D go for the new LG range.
A 47" model with 3D should easily fall in that price bracket.
LG 3D tvs have a very Nice support for DLNA and formats played via USB. I can connect my 2TB HDD directly to the TV and play large mkvs.

Will check out the Samsung TV suggested also. Will buy from Chroma mostly.
