Dear sir,
My name is Deborah and I would like the opportunity to speak with someone from your furniture company regarding my decision to purchase one of your corner television cabinets.
We have a unique situation in our home, which I am sure you probably do not encounter on a day to day basis. We own and live with 24 cats inside our home.
You see, I was one of the four founding members of an organization who's sole purpose was to rescue, foster until adopted cats and kittens, set up controlled feral cat colonies and provide low cost spay/neuter programs. My 24 permanent residents are a result of that work and either exhibit undesirable behavior or have severe handicaps which made them un-adoptable.
My husband purchased a 34 inch Sony Wega television, the first one only lasted for 3 months before one of the cats climbed atop of it and sprayed urine down into the back of the set and fried the mother board. Ultimately we were able to replace my husband's precious t.v. and I purchased plastic from a fabric store and constructed a crude t.v. cover, which has to be removed, folded and stored whenever we get the opportunity to watch t.v., then replaced when no one is in the room.
The stand that we purchased from Best Buy retail store at the time we purchased the first television is made of compressed sawdust, and due to the cats spraying the sides of the t.v. stand it is now crumbling. It is our fear that it may collapse any day now and we will subsequently lose another high dollar television set.
I dropped by X Furniture Showrooms and was unable to find a sales associate to assist me, despite the fact that I was there close to half an hour. I had another appointment that I was committed to and couldn't wait around for an undermined length of time, so I was handed one of the books distributed by your company.
I am interested in a corner cabinet made of solid oak. I like the design of the cabinet illustrated on page 17 in your catalogue (CC_ _ 36B), or on your web-site (CC_ _89), as I want the television to be enclosed inside the cabinet to protect it from being accessible to our cats. A "Golden Oak" finish and as far as distressing is concerned, I want something durable, sturdy and simple, such as is found in the "Harmony Collection." I'd like to have the option of glass doors on the bottom, so that we can use the DVD/VCR combo remote to control the unit through the door without leaving something open for the cats to crawl inside. However, we do have a concern. Is there some way of inserting a divider or some sort of silicon based stripping between the doors to prevent a stream of urine from being shot through between the slot where the two door would meet in the middle?
I know this may sound like a fantastic feat to you, but please believe me, we have experienced the accuracy and the subsequent damage caused to electronic equipment as a result of direct contact with sprayed urine from our cats.
I have taken the liberty of measuring both the television set and the corner in which the television is located.
The height of the set is 29 1/8" vertically, 39 1/4" horizontally (outside to outside), 24 3/4" from middle of front to middle of back where the set jutes out toward the wall, 24 3/4 from the side of the set back to the rear of the set where it jutes out toward the wall.
When facing the wall where the television stands, to the left is a fireplace that has wood molding all around it. The measurement from the right-hand corner of the wall horizontally out to the left where the molding begins is 44 1/4"
Based on the information I have provided you, could you please give me an estimate on the price of one of the units that, in your expert opinion, would meet my needs?
I appreciate your kind consideration in this matter and anxiously look forward to hearing from you.
