Head-Direct RE2 + Fiio E5 for 49$

Does this "need" to have an amp? I definitely don't want to have to use an earphone amp no matter how good it can make the music. The reviews in headfi suggest that the ne-7m is probably better in comparison without an amp?
Has anyone got either earphones here?

Need to get a new iem soon coz I mine broke yesterday.
 
^^ No it doesn't. It is easy to drive and can be used with practically any source.

If you love bass more than anything then dont get these earphones. Get the Nuforce instead.

Then, is the nuforce not as good as this one when the bass and price difference are not the deciding criteria?

Hmm... going through the head-direct site, makes me feel that the ne-7m is the one for me to get.
I guess there isn't really enough interest in it for a GO though :(
 
hmm looks like a superb deal .considering they used to sell for 99$ once upon a time :)

are these better than the sound magic PL-30 + fiio E3 combo ?

i am using the above right now.. and i really like it :P

but the thing is a friend is forcing me to sell my PL-30 +E3. to him as he cant buy anything online.

i dont mind putting some more cash and getting the RE2.

so guys please tell me if it will be a worthy upgrade ? will i need to get a amp separately ?

need to decide by Monday.

also is the shipping 10 $ for each unit.

i mean can we combine orders to reduce on the shipping cost ?
